I have made this recipe several times since filming this, and have discovered an important fact: quality matters. Normally I select a national well-known brand as the ingredient for this recipe, and it works well. Recently I noticed that my grocer started carrying some local and regional micro brewed root beers. Looking them over I found that they were still using sugar over high fructose corn syrup. Anyone who remembers Coke before the “new Coke” faux pas knows that there is a huge difference. It improves the flavor of this dish conciderably. So when you try this recipe out, do yourself a favor and read a few labels. You will be happy you did. Oh and pick up a few bottles to have with your bbq, you won’t regret it
